The House Showing is scheduled for this evening. It is imperative that we collect the supplies necessary to facilitate maximum viewing pleasure. Currently, Jesse and I are in possession of three television monitors, two dvd players, a vcr, and a newly renovated backyard. Hopefully Dr. Alphonse Hudson will be able to provide yet another monitor and a vcr. In terms of cable, I am going to attempt to contact John. If the weather holds out, the films will be shown in the backyard. Otherwise, we will watch them in the basement, in conjunction with the big screen tv. There are also rumors of a fully functional projector, but obtaining it is still a work in progress.

Projected Showtimes
June 2, 2007The PTFC is hosting a projection on Saturday June 9, 2007. The following films and related showing times are valid for this date:
10:00 pm – The Cruise (1998)
This documentary, in black and white, documents the urban endeavors of Timothy “Speed” Levitch. The film explores Levitch’s attempts to interact with the urban expanse of New York City through the mode of the “cruise.” The film suggests, above all, a particular mode of interaction. This mode of interaction is similar to what many would refer to as drifting. Levitch’s intermittent humor attributes the film additional comedic significance.
11:45 pm – Videodrome (1983)
Videodrome addresses a variety of issues prevalent in society. The most noticeable issue in this film exists in relationship to the popular societal belief that television programming encourages increasingly violent reactions amongst viewers. This horror film is a fantastic demonstration of societal preoccupations in the latter half of the twentieth century.
